Materials Coordinator
Working at the Mine or Plant site, the Material Coordinator performs a variety of duties to ensure materials and parts are ordered, expedited, stored and staged for all production and maintenance functions. The MaterialCoordinator(s) provides a key function within the overall process. As in all positions, this position will put health and safety above all.
Each position will be responsible for material coordination workscope in either maintenance or production functionsand will be accountable to a Supervisor or Process Owner in either of these 2 areas.Primary functions will be to:
o Ensure that maintenance parts and materials are ordered for unplanned jobs, and are expedited and staged for all planned and unplanned maintenance work. Scope of work includes any or all areas of Mobile, Fixed Plant orElectrical equipment maintenance work
o Ensure all stock and non-stock production materials are ordered ,expedited and tagged for the appropriate storage destination within the mine or plant
QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed in this role, the incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
Education:
o Minimum college graduate with a technical diploma and/or a qualified tradesperson with technical training in the specific area of responsibility
o Knowledge of the process and associated equipment in their area of responsibility (Production or Maintenance)
Experience:
o 3 years of relevant experience in specific area of responsibility
Job Skills:
o Working familiarity with personal computers, the Microsoft suite of software,CatBase, etc. Must have extensive knowledge of computerized maintenance and materials management systems (SAP, etc), and be familiar with various mining equipment, materials, parts, tools and equipment.
o Training and ability to operate forklifts and other materials delivery/lifting equipment is required. Ability to operate surface and underground personnel carriers and auxiliary cages
o Ability to meet the lifting requirements for the work based on the Physical Demands Analysis
o High communication and organizational skills
Typically, the incumbent spends 30% of the time in the plant orunderground work areas, 20% in meetings and 50% in a warehouse or office environment either on surface or underground depending on assignment.
