Job Description: Confined Space and Entry Attendant
Responsibilities:
• Supervise fellow employees as they enter confined spaces with tools, heavy equipment, etc. You will not be entering the confined space, only monitoring it
• Arrive well rested, fit for duty, staying alert and awake, and capable of carrying out their roles and responsibilities for their entire shift. There will be ZERO tolerance for sleeping on the job or utilizing distractions such as cell phone, etc.
• Maintain air quality inside confined space, using a monitor detecting oxygen level, carbon levels and flammability potential
• Record air level data every 15 minutes
• Supervise fellow employees and keep track of who enters and leaves the confined space
• Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation including timesheet daily.
Follows site specific rules, policies, and review and implement expectations listed on the job hazard awareness plans (JHAs)
• Must know the hazards associated with confined space entry – knowledgeable on the means of exposure such as inhalation or dermal absorption.
Able to recognize signs of symptoms & consequences of the exposure
• Maintain communication procedures with the workers entering the confined workspace and know how to alert attendant of hazardous or prohibited conditions
• Proper use and understanding of personal protective equipment and safety equipment
• Demonstrates professionalism, effective communication, and reporting skills
• Maintains cleanliness of the company vehicles, trailers, workspace
• Must show up to work clean shaven with fit test and respirator
What we offer:
• Rotational Schedule – 2 weeks working on site and then 2 weeks off work at home
• Day Shift/ Night Shift openings / 12-hour shifts –6am-6pm or 6pm-6am
• $ 30 per hour for all hours worked
• Transportation to and from the job site and camp accommodations, meals etc.
Who you are:
• Ability to commit to all shifts and show up for work daily.
• Reliable transportation
• Physically fit and able to keep up with the pace the job requires
• Trained with valid confined space and entry certification
Experience:
• Working as a confined space and entry attendant for 1 year preferred
Work Location: In person on site at a mine close to Timmins Ontario
