Job Responsibilities – Civil Construction Supervisor

• Manages project contractors by monitoring and controlling performance

• Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and constructability reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements

• Meets project budgets and timelines by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions

• Accomplishes construction project results by contributing to project scope definition; estimating; enforcing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating contractor works; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders

• Prevents orders and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, the various regulations and codes

• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures

• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in civil engineering technology preferred; considerable experience in related field will be considered in lieu of formal education

• 5+ years’ experience in managing the execution of small to medium size projects

• Knowledge of project management techniques (i.e., critical path method, progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in estimation, cost monitoring, analyzing and reporting is an asset

• A Carpenter trades background will be considered an asset

• Good organizational skills are required with attention to details

• Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines

• Working knowledge of regular financial and procurement processes, preferably in construction or engineering projects is an asset

• Solid report writing, communication and presentation skills

• Effective problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach

• Strong analytical skills

12 hours/day - 14 days on site 14 days off
Salary
$65-$85 per hour
